Why Facebook is WAY Better than twitter

Why Facebook is WAY Better than twitter

Being a longtime facebook user, I recently decided to give twitter a try, and at risk
of coming off as very biased, twitter sucks.

Heres 3 reasons why facebook(if you're going to use either one) is WAY better than twitter.

3. No one gives a crap about your tweets

"No one ever retweets her tweets!"

Tweeting feels like you are in a crowd of over 200 people, with everyone shouting something at the same time, everyone is looking for some kind of attention, and unless you are a celebrity of some sort everyone could care less about your tweets.

People tweet about things that are trending and put little hashtags categorizing the topic of the tweet so that other people will notice it when they go into a list for that hashtag.

Why Facebook is Better:

With Facebook, you are connected with people that you at least have some sort of interest in talking to and hearing what they have to say, it feels much more personal. People can like your status, and the more likes you get the more your status will get displayed.

Bottom Line:
With Twitter all you can do is retweet someones status, it's a bunch of copy and paste BS.

2. Your followers always leave, because following you was a ploy to get followers

"Screw you man, our follower ratio is out of whack"

With twitter, there a thousand different websites that help you get loads of followers. On one website, you are given points for following other people, and once you have points to trade, you are displayed on a page where people will follow you and collect points for following you, and the cycle continues.

The only problem is that people tend to stop following you after about a half an hour. You see, people that are using Twitter to promote something, which almost everyone is, want to keep their amount of followers larger than the amount of people they are following. So at one point in the day you'll start off with 160 followers, and then it drops to 40 in half an hour.

Why Facebook is Better

On facebook people are actually looking to interact with other users, and users enjoy spam free status updates. You can have meaningful interaction with other people all day long.

Bottom Line:
Twitter is nothing but attention whoredom at it's finest.

1. You cant interact with other tweets in any meaningful way

With Twitter, you have to reply to someones tweet in a seperate tweet, and oh, it's extremely rare for this to ever happen, so you can do that or you can retweet someones tweet, which is like the biggest compliment in the twitter universe.

Why facebook is better:

With Facebook you can share, reply(it actually shows up underneath their status), and like, for the world to see. Facebook is awesome because you have the potential for your status update to be seen by millions of people if the connections are right. With twitter this will only ever happen to a celebrity.

The Bottom Line:

Facebook provides excellent user interaction, while twitter lacks in providing anything meaningful.

Isn't it the same for fb as well though? Why do you think people update their status so constantly?

Sounds like you follow randoms and not people you know.
